And I hate the situation cos its tearing us apart,
And we made some bad decisions but we made them from the heart.
And no I never thought that you and I would come to this,
But we’re not living in the moment we’re just scrutinising it.
And now all that I can say is that I finally understand why you reach for the bottle instead of reaching out for your man.
But there it is I guess there’s something wrong with us cos we’re making bad decisions and our lives are kinda fucked.

And it’s sad cos we had plans and we were gonna make a home,
That we fill with flat-pack furniture and happiness and hope. and we both,
Try raise our children to be well-rounded and loved,
But instead we got distracted by some alcohol and drugs,
And now everybody’s telling me that I should be a man and stand up for my woman and fight for everything that we have.
It’s kinda hard when your share a mutual love of relentless self-destruction and of alcohol and drugs.

Now your searching for the bottle and I’m reaching for the spoon,
And I’m scrounging for some matches and your munching on some shrooms and I know,
It’s not sustainable we can’t go on like this,
So we’ll do this one last time and then we’re really gonna quit.
And I’ll get myself a job and get promoted through the ranks,
And we’ll buy ourselves a car maybe a runaround or maybe a Jag.
We’ll go on holiday like seven times a year from Dubai, Milan to Tokyo we’d really see the world.

And we’ll grow be better people and we’d make some better friends,
Who work hard for all their money just to keep their stuff on trend.
And we’d go to fancy parties with sophisticated food,
There’ll be crystal chandiliers and a sculpture of some nudes.
And we’ll drink the finest alcohol but only have a taste,
And we’ll sip our fancy cocktails while we dabble in a little cocaine.
But moderation never really suited us,
Cos we’re making bad decisions and our lives are kinda fucked.
